Becky Schuman is a painter, naturalist, and educator born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She has worked as a teaching artist for students from preschool to college age, a muralist, theater set-painter, and a nature educator. Outside of painting, she engages in environmental and animal rights activism, and is also an avid bird-watcher. She graduated from the New York Academy of Art with her MFA in May 2026.
Her work is inspired by bird migration, climate grief, naturalist euphoria, and her experiences as an early childhood nature educator.
